AFE4403: LED driver

Hello! I am trying to understand how the LED driver circuit works for the AFE4403. Are tx_n and tx_p meant to be constant current sources, or constant current sinks? Do the start of LED1 and LED2 correspond to high or low for tx_n and tx_p?

Hi Lillian,

The TXN/TXP pins of AFE4403 when connected to the external LED sinks the current. This current is constant and can be programmed by AFE's register.

When LED is turned ON, the voltage at TXN/TXP will be LED supply - forward voltage drop of the LED ( for the given LED current).

How does the current mux respond if both LED1 and LED2 are on at the same time?

Hi Lillian,

Simultaneously turning of both the LEDs is not allowed in AFE4403.
