DAC81416EVM: No current drawn when DAC81416EVM VCC, VSS and ground connected to power supply

Part Number: DAC81416EVM

Hi,

Could you please confirm the current drawn from the power supply for DAC81416EVM? I didn't see any when it is connected:

VCC: positive 12 Volt

VSS: negative 12 Volt

Gnd: 0

Thanks.

Regards,
Andri

  • Hi Andri,

When you power up the EVM, device will be in power down mode and in this state it will draw only 20 to 30uA from VCC/VSS supply and I doubt you can measure that with a normal multi meter.

You need to write into the device to bring out of power down state and then you can start observing device supply current. When full code is loaded into device, you can expect 10 - 25mA of current depends on channel and output range.

    Hope this helps.

    Regards,
