ADC128S102QML-SP: Different die versions?

Part Number: ADC128S102QML-SP

Dear support team,

January 23rd 2020 there was an application advisory released that depicted the possible occurrence of sparkle codes under certain input voltage conditions. In our satellite program we see the reference of the ADC128S102QML-SP part but with different manufacturer reference i.e. Texas Instruments and National Semiconductor. I'm aware that NSC was acquired by TI in 2011 and thus suspect it is the same part.

My question is whether you can confirm or not that the ADC128S102QML-SP is only available in one die version and that the components offered today are the same as the ones offered by NSC and thus will experience the sparkle code?

Best regards,

Jorgen

  • Hello Jorgen,

The ADC128S102QML-SP devices from NS are the same as the ones still produced by TI.  Therefore all manufactured devices with that exact part number have the same very small possibility of displaying this behavior as explained in the advisory you received.  Please note the product has been a high runner for many years and it took quite some time for the behavior to be observed but we still wanted to take a conservative approach and provide as much information as we had on the behavior.

  • Thanks for the swift response. That cleared up the doubt.

    Best regards,

    Jorgen
