ADS54J60EVM: HPC or LPC connectors?

Part Number: ADS54J60EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DAC39J84EVM,

Hi,

what are the required FMC connector types on a FPGA card to match both of the above parts? are they LPC or HPC types?

most FPGA cards have one of each, and I need both of the above connected at the same time.

thanks

philip

  • Hi,

the other part is cut off from the subject heading:

the Parts required to be connected at the same time are:

    ADS54J60EVM AND DAC39J84EVM

The FPGA card has 1 x LPC 1 x HPC FMC connectors

    thanks

  • Philip,

Due to the form factor of the DAC39J84EVM, the DAC would have to use the HPC FMC if using a FPGA board that is following the VITA standard for the FMC connector location on the PCB. The picture attached shows this DAC plugged into the HPC on a KCU105 FPGA platform. The ADC54J60EVM would then plug into the LPC. The LPC has many less signals routed to it including the high speed serdes signals. You will have to look at the schematic of both boards and verify the signals you plan on using are routed on the LPC. In most cases this will force you to use less serdes lanes on the ADC EVM due to this. Both the ADC and DAC EVM's use standard FMC connectors that plug directly into most Xilinx and Intel (Altera) FPGA platform boards.

    Regards,
