ADS122U04EVM: unable to connect the ADS122U04 EVM board to my PC

Part Number: ADS122U04EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS122U04, ADS112U04EVM,

Hi,

As i am using a ADS122U04 EVM kit which is connected to the PC using USB to Serial communication probe(which comes with EVM board).

i had installed the Delta-Sigma ADC Evaluation software and device package software for ADS122U04.

After connection the hardware to the PC, the Delta-Sigma ADC Evaluation software shows Hardware not connected.Ready... message every time.

i tried using the manual installer and automatic installer but unable to enable the EVM board and use it.

Thank you,

Maniram

  • Hi Maniram,

The installation requires administrator rights to install the software.  The Delta-Sigma ADC EvaluaTIon software must be installed first followed by the appropriate device package.  Make sure that the device package matches your EVM as there is the ADS122U04EVM (24-bit version) and the ADS112U04EVM (16-bit version).

After software installation make sure the appropriate driver is installed and associated with the EVM.  If the EVM was plugged into the USB before the driver was installed, the association may not have been completed and the EVM may show up as an 'unknown' device in Device Manager.  To verify that the EVM is recognized, plug the board into the USB and open Device Manager.  If the EVM is properly recognized you should see the association as a TivaWare Bulk Device:

If you do not see the driver association, look for an 'unknown device' or perhaps a listing with a yellow triangle with an '!' mark.  You can go to the device properties for this device and associate the drivers manually.  The drivers are located:

The driver association should be 'usb_dev_bulk.inf' to complete the installation.

If all looks good to this point, plug in the EVM to USB and then start the GUI.  Sometimes the GUI does not recognize the EVM after the GUI is started if the EVM is plugged into the USB after the GUI has started.  If you still have issues, we can go through some further checks.

    Best regards,

    Bob B
