DAC7565: Decoupling capacitor requirement on VREFH/VREFOUT pin

Part Number: DAC7565

Hi team,

Could you give me comment on following customer question?

Q1. How large capacitor can the customer select the decoupling capacitor on VREFH/VREFOUT pin? The datasheet describes 150nF as minimum in Figure 97, and he wants to confirm if there is maximum value.

Best regards,

Takeshi Sasaki

  • Hi Sasaki,

Min of 100nF is required for noise reduction and for improved noise performance min 150nF is recommended. You can have max value of 10uF capacitor on Vref pin as its stable with capacitive loads.

Noise on the DAC out depends on this reference noise, so for better noise performance, I suggest having higher capacitor, say 1uF

    Hope this clarifies your query.

    Regards,

    AK
