ADS8588SEVM-PDK: PullDown Resistor Confirmation on Ovesampling mode pins

Part Number: ADS8588SEVM-PDK

Hello Guys,

Good day.

I just like to confirm if the pulldown and pull-up resistors on the Oversampling mode control pins (OS0, OS1, OS2) of the ADS8588SEVM-PDK User's Guide on page 23 of the schematic is necessary or we can do away with that?

ADS8588SEVM-PDK User's Guide:   http://www.ti.com/lit/ug/sbau278b/sbau278b.pdf?ts=1591289731189

Thanks to confirm!

  • Hi Art,

I apologized for the late response.

If these OSx pins are configured locally, the pull-down resistors on the OSx can be removed with a direct connection to the ground, however, a pull-up resistor (5.1kohm or 10kohm) is suggested between them and the DVDD supply if they are forced to high.

If they are configured remotely and controlled by a controller, the pull-down resistor(10kohm) is suggested in case the OSx will be forced to high by the controller.

    Best regards,

    Dale

  • No worries and Thanks a lot Dale!
