Is ads1299-4 suitable for the ECG application for measuring fetus' electrocardiogram?

If so, then does TI have the reference design base on ADS1299-4?

If not, does TI have other device to suggest and have the reference design?

Moreover, does TI have any hardware design suggestion on increasing the strength of receiving signal and also on the noise filtering?

Hi Jack,

The ADS1299-4 can be used for measuring the fetus' ECG. Unfortunately we do not have a reference design or device filtering reccomendations that covers this specifically, however, please see the PDK (EVM) for example schematic and layout. Typically, we do not recommend adding a pre-amplification stage to the ADS1299 as it can decrease SNR. I would recommend performing amplification and filtering mostly in the digital domain.

Hi Alex,

When ADS1299-4 is doing the reading from IN 1/2/3/4, is the reading in parallel or in sequence? If it is in sequence, then does ADS1299 adjust the timing when output the data?

Hi Jack,

If you look at the device datasheet, you will see that this is a simultaneously sampling converter, meaning all channels are reading at the same time in parallel.
