Hi team,
Datasheet mentions that output voltage will be 2 * REF * (CODE/0x1000).
Why the output is multiplied by two?
I want to realize 5V full scale output. Do I need to connect 2.5V to REF?

Itoh

Hi Itoh,
Output buffer has gain of 2. That's the reason transfer function is 2 * REF * (CODE/0x1000).
With supply voltage of 5.5V, you can have reference of 2.5V, if your supply is 5V and you feed 2.5V reference, there will be clipping of DAC output voltage.
(Due to the x2 output buffer, a reference input voltage ≥ (VDD – 0.4)/2 causes clipping of the transfer function )
and Max output voltage is AVDD - 0.4V
Hope this clarifies.

Hi AK,
Thank you for quick response! I got it.
Could you please recommend right 12 bit DAC which can output 5V full scale?

Itoh
Hi Itoh,
We have newer series devices. Can you let me know other specifications which are of interest to customer?
Can you have a look at DACx0501 device series? This is a family of devices covering 12 - 16 bit.

My customer is looking for DAC with parallel interface.
As customer is satisfied with TLV5613, let me close this thread.
Thanks.
