TSW1400EVM: Not generating the required ramp pattern

Part Number: TSW1400EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS5294

Hello

I have been trying to test my ADS5294 8 channel 80MHz sampling board with the TSW1400evm.

I have been using HSDC software to test my pattern generation.

I have attached a snippet of the configuration of the AD5294 software i have used, and the results obtained on the TSW1400evm.

  • Hi,

    Thanks for using ADS5294 device.

Although we could not be able to see the pictures you tried to load in,

Could you please let us know if you can receive the same test guide line which is listed on

ADS5294 Users Guide (you can load it from the TI website) when you also connect it with TSW1400EVM?

If you cannot even start running and get error message,

    then please let us know.

    Thank you!

    Best regards,

    Chen

  • Hi,

If this is the first run using ADS5294 and TSW1400 EVM boards,

please make sure the firmware for both is installed successfully (when you are running both software

there should be running without error message) and also please make sure

ADS5294 EVM board is firmly connected to TSW1400 EVM board.

    Thank you!

    Best regards,

    Chen

  • Hi Chen

Let me try to explain my problem better. I have given an external clock to the AD5294 board  which is a 20MHz 1Vrms pulse signal, and an input signal on channel 1 which is at 5MHz 1Vrms sinusoidal signal.

On connecting the TSW1400 and capturing the signal in time domain, the following image is what I received.

  • Hi,

Thank you for your more detail reply.

    from your selection of ADS5294_2W_14b,

could you please try the followings.

    1) first, please try and confirm the following:

    2) and then please run the TSW1400 GUI

if still not well, also please try more as below:

But please try one by one (not both at the same time).

    Hope this can help!
