As a few previous threads have discussed, 4.096 MHz crystals are relatively large making them less ideal for lower profile projects. I am looking for a suitable lower profile alternative to the current 4.096 MHz crystal used in the reference designs. All the crystals I considered with the same frequency also come in similar sized packages. The data sheet outlines that the chip can take a wider range of crystal frequencies so I have extended my search within this range. However, it also says that changing the crystal frequency will also affect the ODR and BW of the SINC filters, but I did not find any indication of how this would actually scale. So I have two questions:
1. How will a change in crystal frequency scale the ODR and BW of the SINC filters and how sensitive is it to these changes?
2. Are there any alternative crystals you could recommend (assuming similar frequency tolerance and stability)?
