Hello Sir,

Greetings of the day..!!

We are planning to use ADS1291 chipset for finger-based ECG measurement application.

In Our Product, we will use two Electrodes connection only RA (IN1N) and LA(IN1P).

We don’t want to use RLD signal some queries

1)Do we able to measure ECG wavefrom through finger/thumb using ADS1291 chipset?

2)In ADS1291 chipset we are planning to use only CH1 1-lead ECG with RA and LA pin.do it will work?

3)we want to disable RLD pin using MUX setting but kindly let me know RLDOUT and RLDIN pin connection floting or GND ?

4)How about the performance difference between finger-based ECG measurement and Chest based ECG measurement?

5)Do you have any reference design of ADS2191 chipset on finger-based or chest based design?

Hi Vishal,

1. yes this is possible, however it can be more difficult compared to traditional measurement methods since the signals are weaker at the finger tips compared to right next to the heart.

2. This should be fine.

3. Un-used RLD output pins RLDOUT, RLDINV can be left to float or tied to GND through a small resistor. Make sure to disable the RLD buffer to save power.

4. I believe slightly lower for the reason I mentioned above, however I do not have data to provide to support this claim.

5. No we do not.
