ADC32RF80EVM: ADC32RF80EVM

Part Number: ADC32RF80EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMK04828

Hi team,

ADC32RF80EVM evaluation board uses a signal provided by the signal generator, which needs to be input into external clock input J5 and LMK04828 reference clock input J7 at the same time. What are the functions of these two signals and what components are provided for?

The 2.94912GHZ signal is used as the external clock input in the user's guide document. Is 2.94912GHZ the sampling frequency? If the input is 2.94912GHZ, does it mean that the maximum sampling rate is 2.94912GHZ?

user's guide:

Best Regards,
Amy Luo

  • The input into J5 connector is used as sampling clock by the ADC. The input into LMK04828 is to generate the reference clock to the FPGA (on 'J56 board) and sysref to the ADC and FPGA.

Yes, 2949.12MHz is sampling frequency. The max sampling clock frequency is 3GHz as stated in the datasheet.
