Sample rate

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PCM2900, ADS7886

Hi,

i need a AD/converter, which signal can convert signal in digital. But i need  to regulate the simple rate. I founded a PCM2900 from CODEC, but it´s not explain in Datasheet how it´s possible this sample rate to regulate. Please can someone help me? Should i choose another Typ of converter?? Which one?.

Tanx.

Patrice

  • Patrice,

We would be glad to help.  As you have already concluded there are many types of converters and which one to use depends a lot on what type of signal you want to convert.  Tell us a little about what you are trying to do.

Are you trying to convert an audio or some other time varying signal?  What frequency range, and at what sampling rates are you hoping to measure?  What kind of resolution are you hoping for and how large is the input signal?

If you are trying to convert a static or near DC signal, then you may want to use a different type of converter.  We still would need to know the above questions.

    Best regards,

  • Hi bob and tanx for your response.

i just try to convert modulated signal from GPS with 1240Hz as  frequency range. I hav to use a sample frequency from 5khz. It´s only 1 input signal and the resolution doesnt matter. The DC signal ist near.

tanx and sorry abt the mistake

  • Patrice,

One possibility is the ADS7886.  It is easy to hook up and use.
