ADS1158: OFFSET Clarification

Hi,

I'm trying to get some clarification on the OFFSET measurement and exactly how it is intended to be used. Should this just be measured once and applied on every channel or done on every scan? The datasheet is kind of vague on what the proper use is.

    The OFFSET channel shorts the MUXOUT pins together (to a mid-supply voltage) to test the OPAMP + ADC offset (BYPAS = 1) or the ADC offset by itself (BYPAS = 0) as a way of testing AND/OR calibrating for the ADC's offset voltage e.g. self-offset calibration. It does not account for all of the offset errors in the signal chain (i.e. the sensor’s offset, and the MUX offset or any offsets resulting from input bias current are neglected in this configuration). However, “self-offset” calibration can still be very beneficial and is certainly easier than trying to measure the offsets on all 16 channels.
