ADS1235EVM: Data Analysis in Delta Sigma ADC Evaluation Software

Dear Sir or Madame, 

I am new to the TI Device ADS 1235 EVM and I try to connect a 6-wire strain gauge to the ADS 1235. I stick to the description that is given in the manual but nevertheless the Data Analysis part from the Delta Sigma ADC Evaluation Software is not working with my setup. The wiring is done like several examples in this forum. I connected the Exc +/- to AVDD/EXC+, the Exc - to AVSS/Exc-. The signal + reference voltage is on REFPO, the signal - reference voltage is on REFNO. The output + is on AIN1 and the output - is on AIN0. 

The predefined script "Enable bridge - external reference" runs without failures

Correct me if I am wrong but it seems like the basic settings are right and I should get at least a signal when I try to collect and analyse data. When I open the Data Analysis part in the Software it tries to connect to the main client but after 2 or 3 minutes it says: Could not connect to main client and the log shows 10 connection failed attempts befor it times out. 

I am not sure if the installation is not 100% right or if something else is missing in the configuration. The register is set up like the example script which i ran before. Could you please tell me how I need to process to get data out of the device?

    Hi Simon,

    Welcome to the E2E forum!  And I'm sorry to hear you are having issues with the Data Analysis client connecting to the main GUI application.  What may be happening is either the socket being requested is already in use, or there may be a software firewall issue blocking that port for access.  There may be more detail in the additional logging that takes place and stored in Documents->DSEvalSW->Logs.  Can you zip the log folder and attach to a post for me to review (use the paperclip icon).

    Hi Bob B, 

    I think it already resolved my issues. The firewall seems to block port 11000 which is needed to connect the Data Analysis Engine via USB to the board(?) 

    When I disable the firewall it runs. I will try to open the port in the firewall so it should be ok now.
