IPC-9701: Please help me find if the following part number: ADS1220IRVAT; if it complies to IPC-9701.
Hi Jawad,
Welcome to the E2E forum! It is not completely clear what you are asking about. IPC-9701 refers to attachment and testing of the surface mount devices in the assembly as opposed to the device itself.
Information regarding the packaging and attachment for the ADS1220IRVAT can be found in the following document:

Hi! Bob
Thanks for the feedback.
One of our customers was asking if this TI device that we are using on our PCBA complies with the IPC-9701.
So that is what I was looking into.
I thought this IPC standard related to SMT Solder Joint Reliability would be for "CM" doing the assembly.
So component manufacturer may not test their components per IPC-9701.
Am I on the right track, before I get back to the customer?
reg,
Jawad
Hi Jawad,
From my understanding this would relate more to the CM building the circuit assembly. IPC usually sets standards for solderability construction methods and testing. JEDEC is usually what is followed by IC manufacturers for construction, life testing, packaging, etc.. Obviously there could be some overlap with respect to testing techniques.
Maybe if we knew a specific concern this could be better addressed. Here is some information as to the JEDEC quality tests that are conducted:
https://www.ti.com/support-quality/reliability/reliability-testing.html
One the left-side menu is the option Quality Summary. This link will take you where you can enter the part number and see the specific tests conducted for the device. Maybe this would be useful for the customer.
