ADS5444-SP: EOL offset error

Hi Team,

We are currently using the TI 5962-0720701VXC for one of a hi-rel application. We would like to confirm if the +/- 0.6 %FS Offset Error specified in the datasheet is guaranteed by testing or analysis. If by analysis, did the analysis took EOL drifting into account?

This is critical for our development. I appreciate for your timely support.

Hi Dennis,

The offset error that is specified in the datasheet is typically guaranteed by testing not analysis. However, this doesn't take in the EOL drifting into account.

Is there any chance that there is any data or analysis performed for us to estimate the driftings (Aging, Thermal, Radiation...) on the EOL performance on this parameter?

Hi Dennis,

It is not permissible for us to share the actual data from the tester with our customers.

However, I have a query into the product line to understand what can be shared in order to give you confidence in this specification.

Hi Dennis,

Looking at the SMD for this device, it seemed to indicate Group C testing was required. Group C includes life testing which will be covered by ATE tested parameters.

Will that not be sufficient?

Hi Rob,

Thanks for your comment. I noticed that output offset limits are also +/- 0.6 %FS in 5962-07207 which exactly matched what called out in TI datasheet at BOL that you mentioned.

Does that mean this parameter had no drifting post-life test at all?

Hi Dennis,

I apologize for the delay, I was finally able to get to the right resource to discuss this.

The answer is yes, I was told that we take enough data and do plenty of guard banding to ensure this parameter post-life testing.
