Synchronize ADS1675REF acquisition

Hi at all,

I'm using a ADS1675REF evaluation board, I have a very simple question:

Is it possible to synchronize the acquisition with an external trigger? Signal is only valid for 10us with a repetition rate of 1 or 10KHz.

I think it's not possible to access the START pin of ADC, or are there some jumper in the XEM3010 interface board?

I have a function generator (AWG2020) with Trigger and also Clock outputs avaible...are they useful?

In this post (http://e2e.ti.com/support/data_converters/precision_data_converters/f/73/t/86317.aspx) I found the VHDL code, how can I use it? Can I put a phisical trigger in the board with this firmware?

Lucio,

The ADS1675 has a START input pin which allows you to synch up conversions to an external event. The start pin is triggered in the VHDL by hitting the acquire button in the SW GUI.

The START pin has a series resistor associated with it, if you were to lift that up and insert your control, you could conceivably control the part with your ARB.

Hi Tom and thank's for the reply,

the evaluation board has a 33ohm in series with the Start pin followed by a 10k pull up resistor, so I'll lift up R33 and put my trigger leaving disconnected the trace coming from XEM3010, rigth?

With this alteration also the ADCPRO program will be triggered? XEM3010 has always the DATA READY (DRDY, nDRDY)...rigth?

what about the solution given at this post http://e2e.ti.com/support/data_converters/precision_data_converters/f/73/t/86317.aspx ?Is not the same situation?
