ADS1262: The conversion result doesn't go to the max code when using internal REF

Genius 17425 points
Part Number: ADS1262

Hello

Our customer is evaluating ADS1262 and is facing a strange behavior.
When using an external reference, the conversion result is saturated to 0x80000000 with VIN < -Ref/Gain and to 0x7FFFFFFF with VIN > Ref/Gain.
This is correct behavior,

When using the internal reference, the conversion result is saturated to 0x80000000 with VIN < -Ref/Gain.
But when VIN>REF/GAIN, the conversion result never goes to 0x7FFFFFFF. Even if VIN = VCC the result is around 0x77xxxxxx.
What do you think is the root cause of this behavior ?

Regards,
Oba

  • Hi Oba,

Can you share how the customer has their schematic set up under both configurations (internal and external reference)?

And can you please share how the voltages are applied, and the absolute value of these voltages? If the customer has changed any register settings that might be helpful to know as well.

    Thanks!
