ADS1248: how to do calibration for ADS1248 measurement with 3-wire PT100?

Part Number: ADS1248

as my thread title, i want to calibrate my PT100 measurement before  shipping product to customer.

I posted my temperature measurement by ADS1248+3wire PT100 and mercury thermometer, the latter is taken as reference.

So how should I perform calibration for ADS1248 measurement?

Thanks

  • Hi JKW,

Usually to calibrate an RTD system, you would select 2x high-accuracy precision resistors - typically 1x on the low end of your temperature measurement range and 1x on the high end of the temperature measurement range. You would then apply the IDAC current across these resistors and measure each to get the endpoints of a line that can be compared to the ideal. This will allow you to determine the appropriate corrections factors for your system. In the plot you provided, there appears to be a significant offset area associated with your system.

Note that the calibration is only as good as the precision resistors you choose, so ensure that these are high accuracy components.
