We are using ADS7843 as a touchscreen controller. The IC does not give proper touch co-ordinates at least 1 time per 20 detection cycles. We have made sure that the routing of the IC is according to the application note provided by TI. Also we have used all the techniques suggested by TI in the documents provided on the website we also added decoupling capacitors at the IC terminals(X+,X-,Y+ and Y-) but this solution also did not work. Please suggest us ways to improve the response of the IC. The variations are such that the touch coordinates vary by at least 30 px. Before adding the decoupling capacitors the variation was about 60 px. When scope was connected at the X+,X-, Y+ and Y- terminals noise was not observed.
Hi Ravi,
Welcome to our e2e forum! Can you provide the scope shots you mentioned along with a schematic of your board and perhaps a layout? Are you using the internal or an external reference?
Hi Tom,
Due to copyright issues I cannot post these details on an open forum. It would be appreciated if you provide us with your official email address. Thanks for your support.
Warm Regards,
Ravi.
