TSW1405EVM: Interfacing of AFE5812 EVM with TSW1405

Part Number: TSW1405EVM

Hello ,

I have TSW1405 board. Want to purchase AFE5812 EVM.

I would like to confirm whether AFE5812 evm and TSW1405 are compatible or not?

Regards,

  • Gagarin,

offically , the answer is NO. because the AFE5812 has a lot of advanced features , like digital demodulator and etc.

while if you only want to evaluate the AFE5812 under 12bit mode. TSW1405 could be a candidate. but this won't give you the full perfroamnce evaluation of the AFE5812. we recommend the TSW1400 board for AFE5812.

in case  you want to try out the 12bit mode for the AFE5812. you can refer to the post below:

    Thanks!

Part Number: TSW1405EVM Hello , We have TSW1405 board. Want to purchase AFE5808A EVM. We want to confirm whether AFE5805A evm and TSW1405 are compatible or

  • Thanks Xiaochen,

By using same AFE5808.ini and selecting AFE5808 in GUI of TSW1405 (High speed data converter pro) can we evaluate AFE5812 for 12 bit(LSB first) as we are doing in case of AFE5808 EVM?

In user guide of AFE5812 EVM figure 10 is missing from where we can get basic results.

    Regards,

    Gagarin Biswal

  • Gagarin,

yes, look like the Fig.10 is missing. but it is not important. it is a figure for the HSDC Pro GUI. you can just switch from time domain to FFT domain.

you can't use the AFE5808 GUI , since the GUI won't recognize the AFE5812EVM. the FFT results between 5812 and 5808 is pretty much similar.

    Thanks!

  • Thanks Xiaochen,

Actually in ADC drop down of TSW1405 GUI(High speed data converter pro) by selecting AFE5808 (AFE5808 option is added in drop down  by keeping AFE5808.ini file in the path "C:\Program Files (x86)\Texas Instruments\High Speed Data Converter Pro\1405 Details\ADC files" as suggested before) can we evaluate AFE5812?

    Regards,

    Gagarin

  • Yes,  you can select the TSW1405 GUI as AFE5808.  please check the other e2e post about how to use TSW1405 for AFE5808 ADC evaluation.

Since TSW1405 is not officially supported by AFE5812, it is not recommended.  you may face unexpected findings which we may not be able to support. hope you can understand it.

    Thanks!
