ADS1118: a new ADC solution

Hi team,

We are looking for a new ADC solution below.

1. 16bit

2. 1~2 channel current source input

3. DVDD can be powered with 1.8v.

Could you please help recommend? Thanks.

    Hi Frank,

    Here is a link to the Precision ADC parametric search with the following filters applied:

    • DVDD < 2V
    • # of channels < 4
    • 16-bit resolution

    There are 36 options, so if you can provide any more information about what the customer needs we can narrow down the search further to an appropriate ADC.

    Also, please note that we don't currently have any ADCs with transimpedance amplifiers built in, but that just means that you will need a small resistor to translate the current to voltage.

    We want some solutions similar as ADS1220 which has a current source. Thanks.

    Hi Frank,

    Thank you for clarifying, I thought you had said "current source input" to mean that you were looking for a current input ADC, since the ADC's integrated current sources would be considered outputs.

    If that is the case, then the ADS1220 is the best option, though DVDD min is 2.3V. If you would like to reach out to me offline to discuss the customer's specific needs and use-case, please do so.
