DAC8775: Output behavior when same register settings are written

Part Number: DAC8775

Hi team,

My customer is designing his product using DAC8775 and asking a question.

When the DAC is outputting a certain value, what will happen to the output if the exact same setting(same output voltage/range etc.) is written to the register?
(Does it momentarily go Hi-Z, does it cause glitch? or does it just keep same value?)

Best regards,

Shota Mago

  • Shota-san,

I checked with one of the designers on this question. He mentioned that if there is an LDAC or equivalent signal (and the DAC8775 does have an LDAC pin) then the switches would get just get the same code. There wouldn't be a switch voltage change. There could be some amount of digital feedthrough, but it should be less than a code change glitch.

  • Hi Joseph-san,

    I understood.

Thank you so much for checking with designer quickly!
