ADC12DJ5200RF: Timestamp inputs

Part Number: ADC12DJ5200RF

Hi experts,

My customer is looking to use the ADC12DJ5200RF on their board and are looking at the Timestamp inputs (TMSTP+/-). The datasheet has the following notes:

“This pin is not self-biased and therefore must be externally biased for both AC- and DC-coupled configurations. The common-mode voltage must be within the range provided in the Recommended Operating Conditions table when both AC and DC coupled.”

The recommended operating conditions are as follows:

And note 5 says: MSTP± does not have internal biasing that requires TMSTP± to be biased externally whether AC-coupled with TMSTP_LVPECL_EN= 0 or DC-coupled with TMSTP_LVPECL_EN= 1

What is the recommended circuit to bias these pins? When I look at the evaluation board there is no circuitry that would enable application of this common mode range. And it doesn’t seem to comply with any standard differential standard (LVDS, LVPECL, etc).

Thanks,

Connie
