DAC8832: abs max for VREF

Hello team,

Customer would like to make sure the absolute maximum rating for VREF but it is not shown in the datasheet.

They will make power supply for VREF through the opamp which Vcc is 12V and VREF is might input 12V instantly at start up.

Could you share the specification for the VREF of abs max ?

Hi Michiaki-san,

The absolute maximum rating for VREF will be the same as the absolute maximum for VDD. This is given as 7V in the absolute maximum ratings table.

Hello Katlynne,

Does DAC8832 have something internal clamp circuit at VREF pin ?

Some ADC shows the abs max at VREF is AVDD ± 0.3V, 10mA and customer would like to know if DAC8832 has same function or not.

Hi Michiaki-san,

Yes, the VREF will be clamped to VDD so the abs max voltage will be VDD + 0.3V.
