ADC3660: ADC3660 DC - .5 Msps

On the datasheet it reads that the device operations from .5 Msps.

If we need to sample DC (or low frequency), will we still see the signal or will it be filtered out? (We still need to see DC/Low frequency signals).

i.e. is it just a case that we need to run the device at a minimum sampling rate?

Hi Vandenplas,

The ADC3660 is considered a high-speed ADC. The 500kHz minimum is the slowest data rate it can support - that does not actually relate to your ability to sample a DC signal though. If you are looking for an ADC used for accurately measuring DC and low frequency signals like temperature and pressure, take a look at our Precision ADC portfolio.

I think you've answered the question and it sounds like this device is fine to use for our application.

in summary, we are looking for an ADC to sample at 65Meg, but that we can still read signals down to DC.

Hi Vandenplas,

Yes, the ADC3660 can sample from 0.5 MSPS to 65 MSPS, and can accept analog input signals from DC to hundreds of MHz. For an example, please see the ADC3660EVM schematic where we use an amplifier (THS4541) to DC couple the analog input.
