ADS131A04: Problem during initialization

Hi Everyone,

I am using ADS131A04EVM for evaluation to be included in a future project. Currently, I am trying to initialize the ADC properly but unfortunately, have not been successful.

Configuration

M0 - IOVDD, M1- IOVDD and M2 - DGND

Here's the steps that I followed by reading the datasheet (9.5.3.6.1 - unlock from POR or reset )

1. RESET pin HIGH

2. Send NULL command - received READY (FF 04)

3. Send UNLOCK command - received READY (FF 04)

4. Send RREG (2D 00) to read the CLK1 register

- On the 4th step, I should receive ACK (06 55), but I am receiving READY instead.

Any idea where I might be going wrong here?

Hello Samarth,

Thank you for your post.

If you continue to receive the READY word, then the device is not recognizing the UNLOCK command. Can you verify the timing requirements and frame size requirements are being met? With M1 = 1, the device is expecting the command word to be 32 bits. These Mx mode bits are latched at power-up.
