ADS8028: ADS8028 No Response form Dout(MOSI) pin of ADC.

Hi Ti Expert,

I Designed custom board for ADS8028 ADC chip. I am trying to read sensor data from ADS8028. and sending command form beagle-x15 board using SPI in MODE2.

Reading channel 0(AIN0) command send is 0xA000H . and also try other command. like read multiple channel,repeat multiple channel etc.and use in internal reference mode.

But no response from DOUT pin of ADC.The DOUT pin is low level. I can share MOSI pin output from beagle-x15 to ADC.

 

I tested the ADS8028 custom board.checked for continuality of each pin it's correct.But not get response from ADC.

so please help me this regarding issue.

    Hello Ajay,

    Would you please get a scope on all the digital lines, including CS, Din, Dout, and Busy. this will help to confirm digital communications is correct and as expected as well as verify timing. 

    Also suggest using a known DC value at the input to compare the measurement with the expected output. 

    If you are trying to read the temperature measurement from the internal sensor of the device, than the input command you are writing is wrong. your command is asking for ch0. 

    To read the internal sensor, it would be: 1000000000100010 = 0x8022h
