ADS7128: : Digitial Input with State change interrupt

HI,

We are planning to interface ADS7128 for our application where we have below query, Require your feedback to freeze the design architecture:

1) Is it possible to configure interrupt/Alert whenever there is change in State for the digital input pins?

2) Is it possible to provide an specific PWM (10% to 100% duty cycle) signal through a digital Output Pin?

3) We require 2 ADC channel to be used to check the value and whenever they are below threshold it should provide interrupt/alert to host.

- Also we require two digital input of switch-button, which should provide interrupt whenever the switch/button is pressed.

- We require 2 Digital output pins, 1 with PWM functioanlity and 1 with simple enable - disable logic.

    Hello,

    1. yes it is possible to have an alert trigger on digital input. I suggest looking at EVENT RGN register. 

    2. The digital output cannot provide a PWM signal 

    3. Each channel can have a programed threshold respectively, and an alert can be triggered when a channel crosses its respective threshold. 

    digital inputs and be used to provide an alert. The device can use the ALERT pin, or can map the alert to a channel configured as a digital output. 

    The device can support all features you are looking for except the PWM signal

    HI Cynthia,

    In addition to above i have one more doubt as below, Require your feedback for the same:

    - There will be 2 button interfaced with this ADS7128. Where this button press event has to be detected by Processor. Is it possible to achieve with ADS7128 to interface it with button?

    Button press event will be Active low Signal and the Valid Button press event will be in range of 100-250msec.

    Hi Bismalsinh,

    As Cynthia noted previously, the EVENT_RGN register can be setup to provide an alert from the digital inputs.  Your push button switch could be configured with a pullup resister to the digital rail with a digital input configured for logic 0 detection.
