DAC5662-EP: DAC5662-EP with 2.5V LVCMOS Data Bus

Hello,

I am interested in using the DAC5662-EP for my application. My FPGA board can provide 2.5V LVCMOS Data Bus and WRTA/B signals. Seems like it meets the minimum VIH requirement of 2V as per the datasheet. But I would like to confirm this. The DAC will be powered at 3.3V DC and all other controls + clock signals will be 3.3V CMOS levels. The Data bus and WRT/B signals are the only ones at high speed, driven directly from the FPGA at 2.5V. Kindly advise.

Hi Arvind,

According to the datasheet since the Vih is 2V the 2..5V LVCMOS should work but there is not much margin let left. It might better to use a voltage translator to convert the 2.5V signa to 3.3V.

Hi Neeraj,

Thanks very much for your response. Can you please recommend some level translators that can work in the DAC datapath up to 200MHz clock rates ? I did not find much on the TI website that can support such speeds. Please let me know.
