DAC8560: DAC8560 circuit inspection

Part Number: DAC8560
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OPA188,

Dear team
I use the internal reference of the DAC8560 and amplify the output to 0-5V through an op amp. Is my circuit correct? Whether the op amp OPA188 and DAC8560 are stable. Is 1nF suitable for C90 capacitor? Can the output of the op amp be protected to avoid damage to the follow-up circuit when a fault exceeding 5V occurs.

  • Hi,

    Here are my comments.

    1. Circuit as such is correct, you can reduce the value of R49 to 1K or so, no need of 10K

    2. 1nF is OK for across the feedback resistor. Again feedback and the R51 resistor values can be reduced say to 1k to 5K range. adding higher value resistor adds in more noise to output

    3. If your next stage is working with 5V supplies, and want to protect it, you can connect back to back diodes to Op amp outputs ( one side to 5V and other to ground)

    Regards,

    AK
