ADC12DJ3200: How to understand the data mapping for Long Transport Layer test of JMODE16?

Hi support team,

I wrote a data mapping module for JMODE16 as my understanding to the output data format of the datasheet. But I don't know exactly whether it is correct or not, and some times its behavior is not the same.

For example:

Sometimes it starts with 0x00030004 (No somf signal detected), sometimes it starts with 0x00020003 (somf signal detected), and sometimes it starts with 0x00030003 (somf signal not continuous)

The ADC Config info:

Fs = 3200MSPS

JMODE16

Fsysref = 10MHz

F=4, K=20

Scrambler Off

SFORMAT Off

Is the chip working normally? Could you check my data capture and explain the Long Transport Layer test in more detail? I'm not quite understand the meaning of CID/SID and mod(i,S). ;(

Hi Joseph,

1) Do the F/K parameters of the IP match the JMODE?

2) Are there any timing violations

3) Are there any buffer overflows errors in the IP

In the ramp mode, you should be seeing a complete set of incrementing octets.

Hi Neeraj,

This issue has something to do with the JESD204B IP design. I fixed it. And the ramp mode test behaviors the same as the datasheet description. Thanks.
