ADS7044: Power Supply and OPAMP integration

Part Number: ADS7044
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OPA1632

Hi Team,

Can you please check and advise following request;

"

- We will read differentially "OPA1632" and SAR ADC "ADS7044".

- We are thinking of filtering our signal with appropriate resistance and capacitance values at the OPA1632 output, and then converting the analog signal to digital with ADS7044 integration.

At this point I have a question:

For ADS7044:

- In our application, we want to feed AVDD and DVDD pins with a voltage reference integration. On the first page of the datasheet, "Independent of AVDD" is written for DVDD feed. Do we need to feed AVDD and DVDD from two different integrations?

For OPA1632 amplifier:

- We will connect the V + pin to 10V voltage and the V- pin to the GND point. In the OPA1632 datasheet, it says that the next ADC pin is connected to the COM pin of the VOCM pin. But ADS7044 does not have a COM pin. Can you share the document if there is an application that uses these two ICs together? It would also be helpful for us if you have warnings about other problems that may arise when using these two ICs together.

"

Thanks in advance

Best Regards

  • Hello,

    AVDD and DVDD can be supplied from the same or different voltages according to the ranges supplied in the recommended operating conditions.  Most people try to isolate the AVDD supply somewhat from the DVDD supply to keep the digital noise off the analog supply, which is also used as the reference to this IC.
