ADS131M04: For High Current Inputs

Hi,

I am under the design phase of my application which monitors the input current on all the phases and measures the protection featured faults to isolate the Circuit Breaker from Load. 

Our Input current range for the Application varies till 8000A. But while referring the design document of this IC ADS131M04, it says that the current range is from 0.05A to 100A. 

Is there any similar ICs which can be used for high current inputs?

    Hello Raguram,

    Welcome to our forum and thank you for your interest in our ADS131M04.

    The 100-Arms max input current is simply a design criteria we fabricated to illustrate a typical application example. The ADS131M04 is only limited by the input voltage range (+/-1.2 V/Gain differential). You can simply scale the turns ratio on your current transformer and select an appropriate burden resistor size to scale your current measurement range to the ADC input voltage range.
