Hello Guys,

Good day.

In the configuration register, if customer configure different sample rates, does this affect the conversion time in single-shot mode? Or is the sample rate parameter only for use in continuous conversion mode?

    Hi Art,

    The conversion time in single-shot mode will be affected by the data rate that is selected. Since the ADC is a delta-sigma modulator, the output data rate setting determines the oversampling ratio (OSR) of each conversion. With a lower data rate, the OSR is higher, so there are more samples used to create the single conversion in single-shot mode. Note that you will have to add 25us to whatever the time for a single conversion is (1/data output rate, for example 1/8sps = 125ms) for the device to come out of the low power state before starting the conversion.
