Part Number: DAC81416EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: USB2ANY

Hello

I am connected the DAC81416EVM via USB2ANY. but DAC81416EVM GUI not work.

I would like show you my connection and my configuration step by step because.

This is my DAC connection to USB2ANY and power source

this is USB2ANY interface GUI

This is USB2ANY interface definition  - GPIO and SPI. (Hope this ALL what i need to defined)

After i am configuration USB2ANY i am turn ON DAC GUI

This is my setting for OUT7

I am played with button "POWER OFF" and all other but this not give me wanted result - positive and negative voltage on OUT7

J1.32 (J1.31 - GND) :why DAC81416EVM GUI  not respond, i not see any respond on my output. Please advise what to do .

what correct value i need write on DAC7-DATA (0x17) register?

P.S.

I'm post my question hear again because I can't add images while trying to answer Paul's answer,

Thank you

  • Hi,

Whats the output you need? Corresponding HEX data needs to be entered in DAC_DATA.

For example, if your DAC range is -10 to +10V, 0x0000 will give -10V output and 0xFFFF will give 10V

similarly mid code 0x8000 will give you 0V.

  • Hi

Unfortunately your suggestion did not solve my problem. I not got any voltage on my output OUT7.

    what i am missing?

Is my power connection to DAC is correct?

Is my USB2ANY GUI configured correct ? How can i know that USB2ANY send message correct and DAC respond to them?

All my configuration i posted in PIC above

    Regards,

  • Hi

I have mismatch between USB2ANY gui and DAC Guide, maybe hear is a problem and because of of that DAC not work?

Do i need enable GPIO on USB2ANY in order to work with DAC81416EVM or enable only SPI

    Please advise

  • Hi,

what is the jumper position of J10 on your board? It should be between 1-2 for 3.3V from USB2ANY as the IO supply for the DAC.

Also from your connection diagram, I think you are missing VDD/VA supply also.

Connector J7.5 should be 5V, J7.6 is -15V and J7.7 15V. I think you have mistake in your connection diagram. This is a 7 pin connector not 8 pin as you have mentioned in your post.

If you connected 15V to VDD/VA pins, device might have damaged also.
