TSC2013-Q1: Could you kindly tell me the detail about the eight data?

Hi Team,

TSC2013-Q1 datasheet shows it provides a set of eight data measurements (X1, X2, IX, Y1, Y2, IY, Z1, and Z2).
Could you kindly tell me the detail about the eight data?

I believe we only use X1, Y1, Z1 if we detect single touch and Z1 is for detecting pressure measurement.
Is my understanding correct?
Are  IX, IY required to detect two touches?

I think these are elementary questions however don't have adequate knowledge so I would also like to know if there is an application note for the detail about the eight data.

Best Regards,
Yaita

  • Hello Yaita,

I believe your understanding to be correct. IX and IX measure through the AUX pin and is also connected to Rsense that is used for dual touch. For single touch, IX and IY will not be used.

We unfortunately don't have any app notes on this topic.
