ADS125H02: IC gets HEATING when the Power supply is given.

Part Number: ADS125H02

Hi,

My IC that ADS125H02 gets heating automatically when the power is given.

This is the schematic i gave ,

I checked everything its seems to be correct.

I founded that the how the IC get heated, when i gave negative voltage VSS (-15V or even -5V) the IC gets heat and if i left that means it may burst so i will swith off the supply.

If i take the -15V VSS and make it to float means, The IC is not getting heat.

Please tell me a solution.

Thanking you,

Karthikeyan

  • Hi Karthik,

The ADS125H02 has a thermal pad that does not show up in your schematic. Is that connected in your PCB?

Do you have any other ADS125H02 samples that you can add to your board to see if they also heat up? It would be helpful to confirm if this is an isolated incident with just one device or if it happens with many?

Have you confirmed that your supplies are connected correctly, and that there are no shorts anywhere on your board? This could be the result of poor manufacturing, bad soldering, flux residue, etc, especially considering the small size of the QFN package and the very small pin pitch.
