DDC316: PCB Design Guide for Low noise application.

Hi Ti,

We're working on the project for conversion of low current level to voltage.With such low current level, I believe that it need a good low noise power supply PCB. I couldn't locate any PCB design guide or Gerber file available from Ti website hence can you help to provide below?

1) Some Gerber file or guidelines of the PCB board design to make a low noise PCB.

2) When this product will be EOL? Or will it be continue for another 10 years?

Hi,

I don't think we got specific PCB guidelines for DDC316 but you can check the DDC264

On the EOL, TI has a pretty strict obsolescence policy. DDC112 for instance has been in production for ~20 years and still going. We certainly make an effort not to obsolete TI standard products out of convenience. For more details please see our policy:

Hi Edu,

We have a few questions about the DDC316.

1) Do we need to add condensar on each VDD pin to get lower noise? If yes, what is the value?

2.) Can we treat QGND and AGND as same ground and connect them together?

3) Do you any analysis Circuit diagram or Eval board Ark work for simialr brand of this low current to voltage converter?

Hi Edu,

We checked the DDC264 documents, however, DDC316 has more functionality which is not explained in detailed in DDC264. There is a gudeline on board design for DDC264 but the layout is not as detailed as for DDC316. Since DDC316 is for reading ultra low current, which is very sensitive to noise. So, we think that detailed documents on board design is very important. Need your help to check and advise whether are you able to share more documents on DDC316?

Hi,

Both the devices have the same supply pins and grounds so we recommend you to follow the DDC264 layout information if the info on DDC316 is not sufficient. The guidelines mentioned in the Datasheet are typically general guidelines but we also recommend to have placeholders for zero-ohm resistors or inductors to short planes and try different theories. Furthermore, if you want to dig deeper, you can look at the attached files which correspond to the characterization board of the device.
