Hello everyone.

I would like to hear your opinions about best way for USB to I2S conversion for audio purposes. My goal is to achieve stereo @ 24Bit/192KHz, though I was looking at PCM5102 chip, and it can do 32Bit/384KHz as well.
Would be really good if there were some alternatives to TE0722 which can do 24/96.
As far as I know, TI only offers 16/44 (PCM2707; PCM2707) for one chip solutions to USB-I2S.
It would be really nice if somebody could point me a right direction, because currently I am a bit confused.

C5535 processor (Demo board ezDsp C5535) looks like it might be able to handle even though its not currently supported. I asked a similar question on the C5000 forum and I got a response saying 24bit/96Khz support is in the roadmap. Here is the reference to the post.

I would recommend the TAS1020 USB Streaming Controller (datasheet linked below). It is used on the PCM5102EVM-U as well. I've linked the User's Guide for this EVM below too.

Hi Patrick,

But TAS1020B page says it is not recommended for new designs and replaced by TMS320C5533 DSP. I would really see software update for C5533 which can support 24bit and higher sample rate.

A better question is: when & who will write the USB protocol stack for Class compliant Audio for the 'C5533 DSP chip? Will they then be HWQL/Microsoft certified for both XP and Win7?

And, what about using a Luminary Micro part instead? Don't they have USB OTG with a Class compliant stack? Look at the DK-LM3S9B96 EVB for example.
