ADS7828: ADS7828 Abs Max for Analog inputs

Part Number: ADS7828

Hi

I am testing one A/D converter circuitry with ADS7828EB installed. As part of my test procedure I need to apply 2.87 V for 50 mS to the analog channel. VDD for the IC is 3.3V and REFIN/REFOUT pin is connected to GND using and 0.1uF capacitor. It looks to be OK to apply 3.3 V as an absolute input as per Datasheet. Can somebody please confirm my test conditions will not harm the ADC

  • Hello Nimmy

Are you using this device in single ended configuration or differential. For single ended configuration (Input referred to COM pin )2.8V analog input with 3.3V VDD should not harm the device as analog input range is up to VDD.

For differential input analog input range is from 0 to VREF. Are you using an internal reference or external reference. Also can you confirm reference voltage value

    Thanks & Regards
