C2000 - CLA Type 1 Emulation Support

I am using C2000 Emulation Flash 1.0.0.2

Currently I am unable to connect to the CLA Type 1 on F2837xD C2000.

The DEBUGCTL register is not being configured properly when the debugger is connected. the SSE bit is not being set when I connect to the CLA with the debugger.

Maybe an update introduced a bug into this.

  • Sal,

I was able to connect to all cores on my F28377D Experimenter Kit on a CCSv6.1.3 with C2000 Device Support versions 4.1.6.0, C2000 Emulation Flash version 1.0.0.2 and TI Emulators package 6.0.407.3. However, I have no code running on the device - perhaps that may be influencing the behavior of the ability to connect.

One additional detail I would check is if the device itself is continuously resetting (watchdog is active).

I will think about other possible issues and report back to this thread.

    Hope this helps,

    Rafael

  • Hi Desouza,

I am able to connect to both C28x and CLA. However, CCS emulator is not configuring the hidden Debug registers correctly to enable MDEBUGSTOP to take effect.

The DEBUGCTL is not configured properly when I connect to the CLA to enable breakpoints and single instruction stepping.

  • Can anyone confirm this?

Is debugging working on the CLA? Is MDEBUGSTOP working with the CLA connected and symbols loaded?

  • Hi,

Can anyone confirm this? Has anyone else seen this behavior?

  • Sal,

Please apologize for the delay. I couldn't reproduce the issue using an example code. Please check the short clip below.

If you see something else there may be a chance the code itself is not allowing it to properly debug the CLAs.

    Hope this helps,

    Rafael

  • Thanks Desouza.

Maybe it is just my setup. Perhaps it will be fixed on my machine once I update CCS.
