CODECOMPOSER: Uniflash v4.2.1.1562 XDS560v2 support

Part Number: CODECOMPOSER
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UNIFLASH, CCSTUDIO

Hello,

My company recently migrated to a windows 10 platform. I am a user of code composer studio as well as uniflash. I was previously running uniflash version 3.1 with a xds560v2 emulator. With the transition, the uniflash 3.1 installer shows no support for windows 10. I therefore am looking to move to the latest uniflash version.

Install of version 4.2.1.1562 went smoothly, unfortunately it appears xds560v2 support has been dropped. I found the following post from nearly a year ago asking for this feature. Looking up the ticket associated with it, the ticket appears to have been marked as fixed but I don't show support.  Can someone confirm?

Thanks,

  • Hi Jeff,

  • Ki,

Have you actually tried following that post? I cannot for the life of me figure out the offline CCS installer package for the spectrum digital xds560v2. Following sections 5 & 6 from that wiki make no sense. In particular, the step of "Locate the JTAG debugger installers for the following JTAG debugger products". I feel like I am missing something. That seems incredibly open ended.
  • Yes the procedure for this is a bit convoluted. To get the Spectrum Digital installer, you need to download the off-line full zip CCS installer. Then unzip the contents and browse to: .\CCS7.4.0.00015_win32\featurerepo\binary

Inside that directory you should see a file called com.sd.ccstudio.emulation.win32_root_5.2.0.14

It is actually a zip of the Spectrum Digital driver installer. Add a .zip to the end of the file and unzip that and you should see an exe to install the Spectrum Digital drivers. You would want to install that to: <UNIFLASH 4 INSTALL DR>\deskdb\content\TICloudAgent\win\ccs_base

Note that I am having the engineer confirm all the steps to enable this so you may want to hold off until I get the confirmation to be safe.

    Thanks

  • Hi Jeff,
Sorry for the delayed update. It looks like even if you correctly drop in all the required files for XDS560, the UniFlash GUI still hides it from the list. I have filed a bug for this. Tracking ID: UNIFLASH-961. We are looking to implement this for UniFlash v4.3 (March 2018)

    Sorry for the inconvenience

  • Hi Ki,

Thanks for the followup. I will wait for UniFlash v4.3.
