Angstrom extraction error

I have the pico 2 and have successfully partitioned an SD card. Now I am trying to install Angstrom on the Beagleboard.

In Ubuntu, the Angstrom distribution

Angstrom-Beagleboard-demo-image-glibc-ipk-2011.1-Beagleboard.rootfs.tar.bz2

is extracted to a folder on a laptop. Several dozen errors like this appear:

tar: ./dev/hda16: Cannot mknod: Operation not permitted

What's going wrong?

This error occurs when you are not extracting the filesystem as the root user.

Please use a 'sudo' command, if supported on your host system. Or temporarily login as root with 'su root'. You will need to know the root password.

Thanks! I was able to get the Angstrom distribution to unzip to the SD card. Now, I'm trying to get uImage onto the SD card, but can't find anywhere to download uImage. Where and how do I download uImage?

Did you get the filesystem tar ball from the following site? If so, then there is a pre-built uImage as well. Plus instructions on setting it up for SD Card boot.

I clicked on

http://www.angstrom-distribution.org/demo/beagleboard/

and got the following error:

/tmp/dQsBdlOI.part

/tmp/dQsBdlOI.part could not be saved, because you cannot change the contents of that folder.

Change the folder properties and try again, or try saving in a different location.
