DLPDLCR471TPEVM: The GUI is version 3.1.0.5 downloaded just last week. I'm trying to connect via the TI supplied USB cable.The GUI reports: EVM not connected.

Since the projector has an image output when power-on, the chipsets should be good. 

Can I know what operating system of your laptop?

I suspect something could be wrong along the interface (either the USB-I2C receiver on the EVM, or the USB driver on the PC). If everything is set up properly the GUI should show the EVM as "connected".

If that is the case, can you please check your USB driver in your laptop? If necessary, you can update USB drivers by starting device manager -> Expand the USB devices -> Select the USB device -> Select "Driver" tag and update driver. 

Do you have this issue before? Or do you have this issue when you received the EVM from TI?

 when i received the EVM from TI，Power on the circuit board, open SW1 switch to connect the computer with USB, GUI shows no connection  。

My computer recognizes USB and defines it as a keyboard, but it can't connect to GUI software.

I have chosen the right EVM and also operate according to GUI user guide. The computer download installed bootloader and  firmware.

But the GUI still shows "EVM not connected".

When I use the Debug option, I can connect to the GUI.But there are caveats when EVM Information gets the Information :Warning ! EVM Firmware Versionmeet does notthe minimum required .

In addition, I do not understand why the Debug option can be used to connect?

It is possible that the error being issued is a false positive. Have you checked the I2C bus to ensure that the data being received by the bus is good?

I use USB port communication.  I don't know how to verify that the I2C bus is correct, but the GUI can send and receive signals.  Also, GUI software is not the same as a user guide

We are not able to see any such warning when connected and also could you please check the firmware version shown in information page and confirm waht are the versions being used

Also, Could you please update to the latest firmware availe at https://www.ti.com/tool/DLPDLCR471TPEVM and let us know if you still being prompted by the warning by sharing some screenshots of it.
