DLPDLCR2000EVM: Application

Part Number: DLPDLCR2000EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLP2000

Hi,

I was wondering if this EVM would be programmable for instrumentation purposes. To be more specific, could this EVM be used to receive spectral information by having a spectrum of light land incident on the DMD and then direct specific wavelengths to a detector. I am skeptical that it would work since this has the display and the optics on board but thought it wouldn't hurt to ask if this could be doable with this DMD EVM.

Thanks

  • Cassandra,

You are correct that such wouldn't be possible with the DLPDLCR2000EVM as is. However, I would note that we have an EVM which is tailor-made for this sort of application (spectroscopy) in the form of the DLP nirScan Nano EVM: https://www.ti.com/tool/DLPNIRNANOEVM

It uses a 0.2" WVGA device (same size as the DLP2000 with higher resolution) which supports NIR wavelengths. All the optics for spectroscopy application are included (along with spectrum library software).

    Best Regards,
