Dear DLP Customers and E2E Users,

As of the writing of this post, DLP Lightcrafter Display 2010 EVM (DLPDLCR2010EVM) has reached end of life (EOL) state and is no longer available for purchase from TI.com. Here, we will attempt to address any immediate concerns or questions that relate to product development using DLP technology in the absence of the DLPDLCR2010EVM:

Q: Is the 0.2” DLP2010 chipset (not the EVM) still available for purchase?

A: Yes, you can still consult the product page for the DMD (https://www.ti.com/product/DLP2010) to purchase devices. You may also consult the reference design that is based on the DLPDLCR2010EVM (https://www.ti.com/tool/TIDA-00325) should you wish to fabricate your own board using this chipset.

Q: I want to evaluate 0.2” class DLP products, but I don’t want to create my own board. Are there still options available for me?

A: Yes, there are two DLP Pico EVMs employing 0.2” class DMDs available for purchase

Q: The DLPDLCR2010EVM supported 854x480 (WVGA) video display at higher framerates. Do either of these EVMs support higher frame rate operation?

A: Yes. Please see the specifications below:

  • The DLPDLCR230NPEVM is capable of operating at higher frame rate (up to 240 Hz) at a maximum resolution of 960x540 (qHD). At 1920x1080 (Full HD) resolution, only 60 Hz operation is supported.
  • The DLPDLCR2000EVM only supports up to 60 Hz video.

Q: I do not have a BeagleBone Black or Raspberry Pi. Can I still use these EVMs?

A: Yes. Although the above host processors are recommended when using external video input, both EVMs can be controlled remotely via any I2C-capable device in splash or test pattern modes.

Q: I own a DLPDLCR2010EVM that I purchased before the EOL announcement. Where can I get old software and documentation:

A: We’ve provided links to all relevant downloadable collateral below. If something you expect to see is missing, please reach out to the team by creating an E2E thread on the matter for assistance.
