DLP4710EVM-LC: Disable all LEDs in firmware on boot

Part Number: DLP4710EVM-LC
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLPC3479

I tried disabling all LEDs in firmware on boot with a .bf script (W 36 52 00) for a compressive sensing application, but it didn't seem to have an effect. Can you provide a firmware image with no connected LED requirement?

Thank you,

Stan

  • Hi Stan,

    Hi Stan,

Could you please share more details about your requirement and how to intent to use the EVM? What  and how are you using illumination?

    regards,

    Vivek

  • Hi Vivek,

Thanks for responding. I'm planning to use the EVM on an optical bench as part of a multispectral camera prototype. The DMD will be used to partition the input light which then will be imaged onto a CMOS sensor. There's practically no illumination (no LED / laser / lamp).

  • Hello Stan,

I  recommend that you reconfigure your set up to use the standard firmware.  This will enable you  to benefit from future firmware & tools improvement along with bug fixes.

I would suggest following approach based on the assumption that you are not using optical engine housing and placing DMD in the your bench on the optical path.

    1. Please use single LED version of firmware (RED LED only) - DLPC3479 & DLPC4710 & DLPA3500

    2. Leave the LED connected to the system in the optical engine.

    3. Configure software to generate monochrome patterns (RED channel)

Please let us know if this addresses your requirement.

    regards,

    Vivek
